The Amazing Spider-man movie review

'The Amazing Spider-Man' starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (Review)The Amazing Spider-man is a 2012 movie where a teenage boy named Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and then gains incredible abilities. After discovering his fathers studies he then tries to find the truth about his parents and why they mysteriously disappeared and left him with his Aunt and Uncle, May Parker and Ben Parker.
Peter encounters many characters from the Marvel universe including Curt Connors who then becomes the Lizard and becomes a threat to both   New York and Spidey.
This movie is based on the comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, where it delves deeper into the story of his missing parents.

I saw the Amazing Spider-man movie last week and I have to say that Marc Webb did pretty well directing the movie. For someone who isn't a very well known director he did well for his first big blockbuster movie and you can tell that he was born for this (regarding to his last name).

Andrew Garfield makes a great Spidey, showing his funnier and comedic (chessey jokes) side to his darker and lone wolf persona.
Emma Stone also makes a great lover for Peter Parker as Gwen Stacy. You really feel the connection between Gwen and Pete, and also Emma and Andrew. The relationship between the two feels so real, they are truly  great actors.
Rhys Ifans also makes an outstanding Curt Connors. You really feel for him where his desperation for his arm goes to extreme measures.
Uncle Ben Parker is played by Martin Sheen and carries on the legacy of Cliff Robertson's Uncle Ben from the previous films, and he is doing a fine job in doing so.
Andrew Garfield Martin Sheen and Sally Field in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'Sally Field plays the loved Aunt May Parker who seems younger than her previous portrayals and seems more of a serious character with stronger worries for her nephew, Peter.

You don't feel as sad about the death of Uncle Ben as you do in the previous movie and even in the comics. Peter doesn't even seem that upset about it either.

To compare the Amazing Spider-man movie to the Sam Raimi Spider-man trilogy would be cruel and I believe that they are as good as each other.
I found that choosing to have Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) as the lover of Peter Parker was a good move after Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) was the love life of Peter in the previous films. For fans such as myself, having Marc Webb choose Mary Jane for his new movie would be an absolute disaster and I wouldn't be able to sit through the same story over again.
I have mixed feelings for Marc Webb choosing the Lizard as the villain of the movie.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE I WOULD SAY TO STOP READING BECAUSE I WAS JUST TOLD ... SPOILERS ALERT!!!  It was well done up to the point where he tries to make every one else like him, which just seems a little cheesy and like a Saturday morning cartoon.
The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'

YOU MAY CARRY ON READING...
The action scenes were very clever and the choreography was great, there were some parts which was just pure genius, for example when Spider-man webs the Lizard like a spider does to its prey.

Choosing Andrew Garfield as Peter was a good idea as it is time to have a younger version and compared to Tobey Maguire they are as good as, but with a little more attitude which I like.

The only problem with this movie was that it seemed like a love story more than an action movie.

Over all I think that this was a pretty decent movie and I am going to give this movie a big 7 out of 10.

Just a heads up, look out for Stan Lee's hilarious cameo and for a mystery guest after the credits.

Now go and comment quickly and tell us what you thought of the movie!
